MMPI-2 (Short, 103 items)
The MMPI-2 (Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory) is a widely used psychological assessment. This short version contains 103 items measuring the general factor of psychopathology (P factor). Answer each statement honestly with Yes or No.
Each item counts 1 point when answered in the direction associated with higher general psychopathology, and 0 otherwise. Note that these 103 items were selected to maximise prediction of intelligence, not to be a miniature of the full 566-item scale. In the Vietnam Experience Study data they correlate 0.90 with the full-scale score — slightly less than a random 103-item subset would (0.95) — while correlating more strongly with IQ than the full inventory does (-0.51 vs -0.34). Your score is compared to two reference samples: a modern US general population panel (Prolific, 2024, N=499) and US military personnel (Vietnam Experience Study, 1980s, men only, N=3,777).
